How to bridge crypto to a game on another network

To use crypto in a game on another network, bridge a token the game accepts to the network where it runs. First check the game’s official site or in-game wallet for its network and accepted tokens. A bridge moves assets between blockchains; it does not move your game account or automatically make every token usable in the game.

What do I need before bridging crypto to a game?

You need a wallet that supports the game’s network, a compatible token on the source network, and enough funds for fees. A game might ask for its network’s native coin to pay transaction fees, called gas. It may use a different token for purchases.

Check the game’s instructions for the exact network and token. A token with the same ticker on another network can be a different asset. Also check whether the game accepts bridged versions of a token; some games only support specific contracts or assets issued on their own network. If the instructions mention a transfer that is stuck, the manta bridge guide covers that case in more detail.

How does a crypto bridge transfer work?

A bridge uses contracts or a service to coordinate a transfer between networks. In one common design, your token is locked on the source network and a matching version is issued on the destination. Other designs use liquidity pools, which exchange assets held in reserve. The destination token may be a wrapped version, meaning it represents an asset held or accounted for elsewhere.

The usual steps are:

  • Connect your wallet and choose the source and destination networks.
  • Select a token and amount that the game supports.
  • Review the fee, destination address and any token conversion.
  • Approve the transfer, then wait for it to finish and check your wallet on the destination network.

Each network records its own transactions, so the bridge may need time to confirm the source transfer and complete the destination step. Keep some of the destination network’s gas token for later actions, such as opening the game or buying an item.

What should I check if the funds do not appear?

Check the transfer status in the bridge interface and compare its transaction record with the source network’s block explorer, a site that shows public blockchain transactions. Confirm that the destination wallet address is yours and that the wallet is set to the correct network. Some wallets also need the token added before it appears in the asset list.

A completed source transaction does not always mean the destination step is complete. If the bridge shows the transfer as pending, use its own status or recovery instructions and avoid starting a second transfer for the same amount. Never share your recovery phrase with a bridge or support account.

Which route is best for a game transfer?

For most players, the best route is the one the game itself supports and clearly documents. It reduces the chance of ending up with a token the game cannot use. A route with a lower fee may take longer or deliver a different token form, so compare the destination asset and final cost as well as the transfer fee.

Bridge only what you need to start, then confirm it arrived before sending more. Once the funds are on the game’s network, the game’s own rules decide which token or item you can use.
